LUSK – The town of Lusk received funding to build its first covered picnic area in Washington Park for local residents to enjoy.
City parks received a donation from former Mayor Patricia Smith and also used Wyoming Community Gas money to fund the new picnic area.
Construction on the picnic area began in September and is expected to be completed by early May for the community to enjoy.
Residents will be able to use the new picnic area on a first come first serve basis without setting up a rental agreement through the Town Hall office. If the picnic area will be used for a larger gathering, be sure to call the Town Hall office and give them a notice of the planned event.
Washington Park is one of three parks in Lusk and it will be the only one to feature a covered picnic area in the community.
