Routine traffic stop results in arrests

Posted

In the late hours of April 23rd, a Lusk Police officer observed a vehicle following too close behind his car.  The officer stopped the out-of-state vehicle, and as he gathered the usual information he noticed the distinct odor of marijuana.  The officer then asked the couple if there was any controlled substance in the car, to which they stated there was not. Further observation of the vehicle gave him probable cause to search the car. After transferring the couple to his cruiser, the officer then searched their vehicle and discovered a large amount of marijuana in plant, oil and edible forms. This prompted the arrest of Taylor  Jae Brandt and Anthony Dejon Dahmen. The couple  were returning home to Minnesota from a visit to Colorado. They are currently being held in the Niobrara County Jail awaiting trial.
