“Wini” retires from Chamber

Posted

On June 30, 2018, a retirement reception was held at the Niobrara Senior Center in the afternoon which was hosted by the Chamber of Commerce.  Jackie Bredthauer, Chamber secretary, organized the special occasion for the lady, Winifred Bryant, who has answered the office phone for seventeen years with her friendly, sweet voice backed up by an amazing memory and knowledge of the community.  Randi Ross, President of the Chamber of Commerce served the cake to the guests at the reception.  Guests were asked to write down memories of Wini for Jackie to compile in a scrapbook.

Wini, as she is known to all of us, began her job on December 17, 2001 and concluded June 30, 2018.  An avid collector of her own family history, she has maintained scrapbooks all of her life, and now looks forward to organizing those things she has treasured and saved in her new free time.  A family member living in Saratoga will someday be the recipient of their family histories in that home museum.

Out of town guests at the reception included Tena Mae Cook, of Chadron, Nebr., who Wini had baby-sat when Tena was small, Burr Bryant’s cousin Dorothy Wickersham and her daughter Ginny and husband Chuck Sides of Harrison, Nebr., and Randy and Brenda Schommer of Chadron, Nebr.
