A hero’s welcome Returning National Guardsmen and Guardswoman

LUSK – Town agencies, Lusk Police Department, Lusk Volunteer Fire Department, Niobrara County Sheriff’s Department and community business owners welcomed home two local National Guardsmen on September 26.

Staff Sgt. Karman Krein and Specialist Kaden Cooper recently arrived home along with soldiers from the Wyoming National Guard 115th Field Artillery Brigade. Both Krien and Cooper were greeted with a parade of lights and sirens signifying their return. Family and friends waited anxiously to hug their loved ones. Krein’s beloved border collie, Mae, clearly missed her owner and greeted Krien with doggy kisses and tail wags.

It had been a while since local guardsmen and women were deployed last December. Cooper’s mother was overjoyed with the safe return of her son. There were plenty of hugs and loving salutations from family and friends.
