LUSK - Kids dodged and ran from cops as shouts echoed across the golf course. Nope, not the cops breaking up an illegal party, just a round of “Cops and Goblins” ultimate hide-and-seek. Middle school through high school had fun running from the cops as dusk approached on Sunday, October 27. 60 youth participated and the Goblins won this time.

The event was coordinated by Chamber Director Morgan Nolan and done in conjunction with the Lusk Police Department. Kids received a bracelet and rules upon registration. Then the chaos, or fun began. The Lusk Elks and Does provided refreshments for the participants. It was hard to say who had more fun, the kids, the cops or the parents who were watching.

As the sun set over the golf course on a mild night and the wind died down, those in attendance expressed their appreciation for the town they live in and that there are so many invested in the youth.

Many of the participants chattered excitedly as they left, already planning their strategies for winning for next year. One of the cops pointed out that the golf course is way bigger than it looks and “those little Goblins are good at hiding.”
