LUSK – On September 2, the Lusk town coun- cil held the first reading of Ordinance No 4-5-160, which features a provision for the dissolution of the Lodging Tax Board should it ever cease to operate in a manner originally envisioned by the council. In the event of such a dissolution, the governing body shall serve as the Lodging Tax Board.

During its last meeting on August 5, the council discussed whether or not the town should assume the responsibilities of the Lodging Tax Board. The aforementioned resulted from this discussion. The first reading is set for the September meeting.

At the time, Mayor Doug Lytle appointed Mike Mayville and Terrilou Nelson to the Lodging Tax Boar. A final decision concerning the fate of the Lodging Tax Board may be made in December. The departure of two Lodging tax board members had left the board leaving two open seats.
