NIOBRARA COUNTY - On Sunday, September 22 the Lusk Volunteer Department was called about a structure fire North of Lusk.

According to LVD Fire Chief Chantry Filener by the time that LVD arrived the structure, which was a home to a local family was already engulfed in flames. Filener told the Herald the family was not at home at the time of the fire and a neighbor had let the family’s dogs out of the front porch. Filener said the home was a total loss.
