NIOBRARA COUNTY - The Niobrara Homemakers annual Christmas Bazaar will be held on December 6, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and December 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds.
According to Homemaker Donna Hanson, the waiting list for vendors is totally full.
“We have our faithful old vendors that come year after year. A couple new ones are Chalk Butte Tack from Crawford and Sheila D Vries from Harrison,” Hanson told the Herald.
The Christmas Bazaar has been going strong for over 30 years. During the Bazaar, the Homemakers plan to prepare two meals each day. On their first day, they will be serving chili and soup. On the second day, they will have a baked potato bar.
The money raised from the Christmas Bazaar helps to fund different Homemaker activities throughout the year. According to Hanson, the Homemakers recently gave $1,000 to the 4-H summer trip fund. The Homemakers also donate to the school breakfast program and other community projects.
