LUSK – The Lady Tiger high school cross country claimed runner up honors as a team on Thursday at the Gordon- Rushville Invite.
Maci Lyons led the way again earning the silver medal in the race in a time of 20:18, breaking up the clean sweep for the home team.
Hazel Gaukel moved up a place in the last 100 meters to claim 8th place. She ran 24:25 in a nice race as she continues to be competitive.
Izzy Requejo and Aalyiah Pavone crossed the finish line together in 16th and 17th place. Requejo’s time was 27:41 while Pavone ran her first 5K in 27:45.
Amber Luker finished her race in 32:21.
The girls finished with a score of 36 points and placed 2nd overall.
Middle school runner Avery Johnson raced possibly her best race of the season placing 5th out of 13 runners in a time of 15:38.
Seventh grader Cooper Skeen earned a top 10 place on the day. His 9th place finish in 13:19 out of 25 runners was a great run.
Liam Walker was close to Skeen in 13:58 while Paul Kruse was in 16th place in 14:23.
Andre Broberg ran 14:58 to place 18th.
The Tigers head to Wright on Saturday to compete in the Brittany Rentas Memorial Meet.
