LUSK – The Niobrara Coun- ty High School Golf Team got their Fall 2025 Season underway on August 22nd at Cedar Pines Golf Course in Upton.
The Tigers were looking forward to a new season with marked improvement and consistency. Junior Aubrey Manning led the way with a season opening 93 to finish in a tie for 11th place. Classmate Hudson Leimser finished just one stroke behind Manning with a 94 for 13th place. Senior Charlie Gaukel set a personal record with a 104 to round out the boys scoring. The lone girl making the trip to Upton was senior Francheska Bannan who fired a 140.
A week later in Sundance the Tigers looked to take some steps forward. The Tigers brought a full boys team of five and finished in 5th place as a team. Encouraging for the Tigers was the fact that they finished just 6 shots out of 3rd place.
Junior Hudson Leimser earned medalist honors for the first time in his high school career with a 78 to edge Easton Lewis from Tongue River by one stroke. Aubrey Manning struggled after a strong start to fin- ish with a 99. Senior Charlie Gaukel posted his second consecutive career best with a 101. Senior Corbin Mat- thews shot a 117 followed by Junior Keen Coffman’s 121. Francheska Bannan was the lone girl competitor for the Tigers and finished with a 139.
