Schools limit movement

LUSK – On November 12, the Lusk Police Department respond- ed to an incident involving a juve- nile allegedly claiming to possess a firearm.

The juvenile’s location was ini- tially unknown. The PD advised the Niobrara County High School and Lusk Elementary/Middle School to enact limited movement.

According to Police Chief Jacob Gordon, the schools were not placed on lockdown and the ju- venile was eventually found and taken into custody. The juvenile did have ammo, but no firearm.

No charges were filed, and the Wyoming Department of Family Services was notified. No further action was taken.

According to a statement given by the PD, the case is considered closed. Elaborating on the case, Gordon provided the following details:

Juvenile was taken into custody. The case is closed
The juvenile made statements of having a firearm, so we suspected that they did.

No firearm was found

No charges filed due to family services taking further action.
