LUSK - The Tiger Boys and Girls Golf Teams finished up their 2025 Spring Season with the Championships in Wright on May 9-10.

The Tigers were greeted with a well-conditioned course and beautiful weather for the championship.  The first day saw very little wind and the competitors took advantage of the perfect conditions.

Hudson Leimser shot a career best 75 (39-36) to tie for 4th place after the first 18 holes.  Senior Ridge Kupke, in his first season of golf, broke 100 for the first time in competition with a 99 (49-50).  Junior Francheska Bannan began the tournament with a 156 (86-70).

The final day of the championship saw warm temperatures and gusty winds that raised the scores of the competitors.  Bannan improved with a 152 (77-75) to finish her spring season.  Kupke started well but stumbled on the back nine to finish with a 112 (52-60).  Leimser continued his steady play on the first seventeen holes despite the windy conditions.  He made his only double bogey of the championship on the final hole.

However, his score of 80 (39-41) was good enough for a top five finish.  Leimser, a sophomore, played in the final group on Saturday and handled the pressure and nerves extremely well.  Leimser was only outpaced by two former state champions, one state runner-up, and two-college golf commitments.  The Tigers are looking forward to the fall season and hosting the 2025 2A State Championships in Douglas.
