WRIGHT – The Niobrara County Tiger Golf Team travelled to Wright to compete at the Haycreek Golf Course on September 12-13.
In the penultimate tournament before state, the Tigers performed with mixed re- sults in the 8-team field. On the boys’ side, Junior Hudson Leimser shot a first round 84 followed by a 97 to tie for 4th place. Fellow Junior Aubrey Manning improved from an opening round 98 with a 92 to finish in a tie for 9th. Seniors Charlie Gaukel and Corbin Matthews shot 109-102 and 106-112 respec- tively. Keen Coffman finished off the scoring for the Tigers with a 122-120.
The Tiger boys finished just 1 shot behind Tongue River to finish in 4th place. On the girls side, Senior Francheska Bannan earned a 9th place medal with a 136-132. Fellow senior Royal Kremers competed in her first 36 hole event with a 180-164. The Tigers will host the state tournament on September 19-20 in Douglas.
