LUSK - Jean Zerbe has been a staple of Niobrara County for years with her shop, Zerbe Prairie Creation, LLC. While the physical shop has been closed for a considerable span of time, Zerbe has managed to maintain an online presence.
Recently, Zerbe’s daughter and granddaughter thought it was time to reopen the shop in town.
“The girls decided I needed to get out of the house,” Zerbe said. “I’m glad to be back in town.”
Zerbe has been in business since 2005. She offers handmade lotions and creams and showcases products that are made with alpaca hair. Zerbe also boasts having Unkers ointment.
In 2015, Zerbe and her daughter invested in alpacas for their fibers and manure. Zerbe’s daughter, Wendy Dutcher-Holt, uses the alpaca fiber to make dryer balls and stuffed animals that can hold different air fresheners. Dutcher-Holt’s tumblers are also on display in Zerbe’s shop.
“I am happy to be back in town and I get to eat lunch with the girls too,” said Zerbe.
Zerbe Prairie Creation, LLC, shop is in the Ranger Building. Business hours are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“I will stay open later if I am busy,” said Zerbe.
