The Special Meeting of the Niobrara County Commissioners was called to order on June 24, 2022, at 10:08 a.m. with Chairman Patrick H. Wade, Vice-Chairman John Midkiff, Commissioner Elaine Griffith, County Attorney Anne Wasserburger attended via telephone and County Clerk Becky L. Freeman present. Members of the audience included Randy Starkey.
The purpose of the special meeting was to discuss the latest ransomware attack on the county’s servers.
Executive Session- Commissioner Griffith moved to enter executive session with Attorney Wasserburger at 10:09 a.m. to discuss public safety concerns. Vice-Chairman Midkiff seconded, and the motion carried.  Commissioner Griffith moved to leave executive session at 10:24 a.m. and the motion carried

After leaving executive session, the following motion was made:
Agreement with Coveware- Commissioner Griffith moved to ratify the agreement between Coveware and Niobrara County for cyber incident response services.  Vice-Chairman Midkiff seconded, and the motion carried.  
Commissioner Griffith moved to authorize Coveware to negotiate on our behalf regarding the June 11, 2022 ransomware attack.  Vice-Chairman Midkiff seconded, and the motion carried.  
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 10:27 a.m.
