NIOBRARA COUNTY – During the Niobrara County Commissioners meeting on August 25, County Attorney Anne Wasserburger said the Niobrara Community Juvenile Services program is underway and has youth enrolled. The contract is complete and is being signed by all parties and then grant funding will begin paying for the program. The program works with local youth who have come into contact with law enforcement. Its purpose is to provide early intervention and support services to address concerns before they escalate and, when possible, keep youth out of the formal court system. Aaron Whitten has been hired as the Niobrara Community Juvenile Services Coordinator.
