The Niobrara County High School Lady Tigers posted four wins at the Tiger Invitational.

LUSK – On Friday evening, the WyoPreps third-ranked Southeast Lady Cyclones came to Tiger Gym for a conference match. The first set was tied at seven before the visitors turned up the heat, as they went on an 18-8 run to win the first set 25-15. Niobrara County High School (NCHS) was unable to keep pace as the second and third sets ended in a pair of 25-12 defeats.
Saturday’s Tiger Invitational was a much better showing for the home squad in going 4-0 on the day. The Lady Tigers began with Rock River and won in two, 25-15 and 25-9.
Next up was Hanna-Elk Mountain, a team NCHS had already defeated twice this season. The Lady Miners were no match as Lusk won in two sets, 25-12 and 25-11.
NCHS had beaten Hulett earlier this year and Saturday afternoon’s match resulted in similar results. Lusk swept the Lady Red Devils, 25-14 and 25-7.
The final match of the day was against Kaycee who had upended NCHS earlier in the season. The Lady Tigers moved to 12-7 on the season with a pair of close set wins (25-17 and 25-21).
The junior varsity lost to Southeast, 25-17 and 25-19.
This weekend the Lady Tigers host Lingle-Fort Laramie to the Tiger Gym on Thursday evening. The C squad begins at 4 p.m. with JV and varsity to follow. Wear your pink, as the Lady Tigers continue to support breast cancer awareness month. NCHS travels to Pine Bluffs on Friday for three games beginning at 2 p.m.
