Lady Tigers honored

Posted

LUSK – Now that the fall sports season is complete, a handful of postseason awards for Niobrara County High School (NCHS) volleyball players has been released.

Football postseason awards and photos will run in next week’s edition of the Lusk Herald.

The Lady Tigers had a 21-17 record and qualified for state for the first time since 2017. Seniors Hannah Krein, Tessa Manning and Gracie ZumBrunnen were named to the 1A Southeast Region all-conference team. For ZumBrunnen it is her third straight honor, while Krein picks up her second (2022) and Manning earns her first.

Following NCHS’s  appearance at state, ZumBrunnen became the first Lady Tiger to appear on the all-state team since Amanda Smith in 2017.

ZumBrunnen also earned the 1A SEWAC athlete of the year award. In addition to the above awards, ZumBrunnen set a new NCHS school record for most kills in a game and most kills in a season.
