LUSK – In a creative outdoor ceremony, family and friends of the promoting eight graders gathered to celebrate their accomplishments.

Held at Washington Park on May 19 at 4 p.m. students were recognized for taking this next academic step. The future class of 2024 consisted of 20 students who participated. They were given individual acknowledgements by staff. Leadership awards were presented to Kort Bannan and Phoebe Allbright for their consistent and positive leadership throughout three years of middle school.

Middle school special education paraprofessional Teri Goddard was recognized for 32 years of service. Goddard has been instrumental in shaping the school and staff into what it is today. She has worked with multiple generations of students and presented unique opportunities to all of “her kids”.

Dr. Joleen Falkenburg was the keynote speaker. She provided nine habits in life that she has found have helped contribute to her own success and encouraged the students to value the time they have with parents and mentors. Students were then presented with their certificate of promotion.
