Planning for the Friends of the NRA (National Rifle Association) yearly dinner have already gone underway with the first meeting having taken place on July 30 and the Masonic Lodge in Lusk. Board members for the FNRA include Chairman Danny Cushman, Vice Chairman Gene Green, FFL Rick & Crystal Zerbe, Secretary Barbara Cushman, Treasure Sarah Wick, Members Hayden Wick, Alyssa Barnsdale, Danny Tadewald, Kevin & Julie Gaukel, Kaitlin Gaukel, Doug Cermac, Kenny Jensen, Cheri Reese, and Brian and Krystal Peterson . The dinner this year is scheduled to take place on October 20, 2018. At the July meeting, members discussed what guns need to be purchased, sponsorships, and the new Ranch Tables. Ranch Tables are new and will be VIP tables that will seat up to eight people. These tables will be specially looked after and the purchase of the table will include extra add-on’s that would cost the normal dinner goer extra. There will be eight ranch tables available and purchase can come from any board member. This year, two local businesses have signed up to sell tickets to the dinner and they include Ranchers Feed and Rough and Refined, both of which Cushman states, “both [are] always great sponsors of the FNRA”. Tickets can also be purchased online. Cushman also adds, “A big thanks to our FFL Rick & Crystal Zerbe who receives the Firearms and stays late on event night to handle background checks all at no cost”. Tickets bought early will be entered into the Early Bird Drawing. “Anyone wishing to donate or sponsor and item can contact any board member. The FNRA, through the NRA Foundation Grants, have put over $150,000.00 into youth shooting sports and the Gun Range in Niobrara County. Thanks for your past support and please come and have a great time at a family friendly event October 20” states Cushman.
