United State Senate candidate Reid Rasner is ready to give Senator John Barrasso a run for his money. Rasner is an unapologetically America-First candidate. He espouses strong leadership, accountability and fiscal responsibility.

Rasner began campaigning in August of 2023. A fourth generation Wyomingite, Rasner has worked as a self-employed wealth manager. He is the CEO of Omnivest, which is a financial services firm.

Rasner said that he initially shied away from politics. However, this last year provided the catalyst for his change of heart.

“I just didn’t like how the country was being ran,” Rasner said. “I finally sat down with my family and said we can do this. I announced my candidacy on August 15, 2023.”

According to Rasner, there’s no shortage of adherents to his populist message.

“There are really, truly many patriots all over the state and every county,” Ranser.

He also said that the movement has started to snowball for him.

Rasner said, “I have a really good following.”

Rasner is passionately opposed to mask and vaccine mandates. He stated that he would propose legislation that would prevent any mask or vaccine mandates.

“I don’t think any public official should be able to mandate this,” Rasner said.

When asked about Governor Mark Gordon’s support of Net Zero policies, Rasner said he didn’t know how anyone could do that. He emphasizes the importance of Wyoming’s legacy industries, including minerals, oil, gas and coal.

“To get away from that is truly not in Wyoming’s best interest,” Rasner commented. “Carbon-free emissions that Governor Gordon and Senator John Barrasso are pushing with these green deals are nothing more than high inflation and high-priced items that we just can’t afford right now. We just need to get back to the oil and gas industry and we just need to start pumping with our pipelines.”

Rasner continued, “Energy will lead us out of this economic crisis. This will balance the budget. Energy and manufacturing will get us out of this.”

Rasner contended that a hasty transition from Wyoming’s legacy industries to green energy sources is premature.

“We’re putting the cart before the horse here and shutting down the coal mines early we cannot afford to lose our gas or coal industry in Wyoming right now,” Rasner said. “I believe we need to elect the right leaders right now.”

The aspiring senator claimed that several representatives who ostensibly lay claim to his same political orientation have been seduced by green policies.

“You actually see supposed conservatives pushing for these tickets of green deals,” Rasner said. “And, this climate agenda just like Senator John Barasso is quite disturbing. I always say our elections have consequences.”

A hot topic these days has been the removal of President Donald Trump from the ballots. Rasner believes that every voter has the right to vote for who they want.

“We should have fair elections and secure elections. No one should be removed from the ballot,” Rasner said.

“We need to fight for election integrity today.”

In regard to the former president, Rasner argued that the accusations of insurrection have already been adjudicated and no charges resulted from those proceedings.

“He has never been convicted of a crime and, regardless of the fake narrative they push, President Trump is innocent until they say otherwise,” Rasner said.

When asked about how he felt about gender ideology, Rasner said that he only countenances two genders. He believes that DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion) concepts should not be imposed at the federal level or in the military.

“We should not be paying for gender reassignment surgeries and we shouldn’t be paying for abortions across state lines,” Rasner said.

He went onto to say that Senator Barrasso just voted for the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) bill, which includes funding for gender reassignment within the military and continued spying on Americans.

“Again, our elections have consequences, and this is a result of electing the same man over and over again for nearly 20 years,” Rasner said. “I am against the NDAA.”

Rasner feels very strongly about securing the border, contending that a border wall needs to be built.

“It is a function of our federal government to defend our borders,” Rasner said. “We need to have a military presence at the wall. We have to look at what deportation looks like. We have laws in place for a legal way for people to come into the country. We need to start enforcing those laws.”

According to Rasner, illegal immigrants are now enjoying benefits that are reserved for American citizens.

“They’re prioritizing illegal aliens medical needs through the VA (Veteran Affair) and our veterans are six months out,” Rasner said. “They are giving voting rights and a monthly stipend.”

Rasner has been on the campaign trail hosting a variety of events. He has plans to return to Lusk again and speak with people. During his stop, he plans on visiting Niobrara Senior Center and speaking with folks about the important issues of this elections.

“We need American-first policies and we need to elect candidates to do this,” Rasner said.
