Wyoming State Trappers Association holds convention

Posted

For the second year, the Wyoming State Trappers Association was held in Lusk, Wyoming. Taking place over this last weekend, convention events began last Friday, August 24 and winded down with a banquet Saturday night. “We have some of the best trappers and predator callers and fur industry professionals in the West here for this, giving free demonstrations to folks here so they can learn to do this better” says Tommy Stephens who provided assistance. The convention, held annually in various locations, also appeared in Lusk last year to the tune of roughly 250 attendees from the industry. This year, that number was thought to have doubled booking up the local hotels, the campgrounds, and areas at the fairgrounds where convention goers parked their campers.  A combined 700 years of knowledge was offered through the roughly thirteen demonstrations that were given over the weekend with the furthest demonstrator traveler coming from Maine, Massachusetts.
