In Loving Memory of Slug Sides
MANVILLE - Slug Sides was born on August 16, 1954, to Bobby and Mary Ann Sides. He passed away on August 14, 2026, at the age of 71.
Slug was a dedicated maintenance worker for the Town of Manville and proudly served his community as a volunteer firefighter. No matter day or night, if his radio went off for a fire, he was on the go. He was known for his willingness to help others and his dedication to the people and community he cared about.
In his free time, Slug enjoyed hunting, playing pitch, and going to auctions. Slug probably knew of every auction in a 500-mile radius of Manville. He treasured spending time with his family and friends and making memories that will be remembered for years to come.
Slug would help anybody out that needed it, especially Chuck, Bobbi Kay, or his son Rowdy. But of everyone, he loved his grandkids most. No matter what, when they walked in and said they needed something from Papa Slug, he made sure it happened, from ATVs to guns. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he left behind.
"When someone we love dies, the hardest part is not letting go of whom we have lost; it's finding the strength and courage to move forward without them"
He is survived by his son, Rowdy, of Wall, South Dakota; one sister, Bobbi Kay, of Montevideo, Minnesota; and one brother, Chuck Sides, of Manville, Wyoming.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Vonda Jo Martinez.
A Funeral Service was held at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds Auditorium in Lusk, Wyoming, on Monday, August 24, 2026. Interment followed at the Dellview Cemetery in Manville.
