SPEARFISH, S.D. – Two former Niobrara County High School athletes have begun their indoor track and field season at Chadron State College.
Last Saturday at the Yellow Jacket Open Invitational, Miranda Gilkey (NCHS Class of 2018) and Alec Penfield (NCHS Class of 2019) had outstanding days for the Eagles.
Gilkey high jumped 5 feet, 1 inch to finish second and triple jumped a career-best 34-9 to finish second in the same event. Penfield won the high jump, clearing 6-4.
