LUSK – Carol Joy (Kane) Pearson, age 84, formerly of Lusk, passed away on August 6, 2024, surrounded by fam- ily in Aurora, Colorado.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Lusk, on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 11 a.m. Her final resting place will be in the Black Hills National Cem- etery in Sturgis.

Carol Joy Pearson was born on October 1, 1939 in Lem-
mon, South Dakota. Carol was a graduate of Lemmon High School and St. Mary’s Nursing School in Pierre, South Dakota. She married the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Pearson, and had a fulfilling and lov- ing marriage for 63 years. She was a stay at home mom to her seven chil- dren. She also worked as an LPN, a business manager for the local Hos- pital, and helped at the local Coast to Coast hardware store in Lusk.

Carol was an active member of all the communities and Catholic Churches where she and Chuck called home. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, playing golf, completing puzzles, and lis- tening to old country music. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family.

Carol is survived by her seven children, Tony, Linda, Lisa, Don, Brad, Travis, and Brian. She is also survived by her brothers,  Harvey andGeorge Kane, and her sister, Julie Dayton. Carol was a cherished grand- mother and great-grandmother, leav- ing behind many grandchildren and several great grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Pearson, her par- ents, one brother, one sister, and one grandson.

Carol will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. May she rest inpeace.
