LUSK - The Lusk Police Department (Lusk PD) is pleased to announce the successful resolution of a significant vehicle theft case that has affected the community along with other communities in the area. Five individuals have been arrested in connection with this case.
The arrests were made following an intensive investigation led by the Lusk PD, with valuable support from Niobrara County Sheriff’s Office, Guernsey Police Department, Gillette Police Department, and the community. The investigation began after vehicle and property thefts were reported in Lusk and Guernsey on March 20. Through diligent work, advanced investigative techniques, and the cooperation of concerned citizens, Lusk PD officers were able to identify and apprehend the suspects connected to these crimes. Not one of these individuals is guilty until proven in a court of law.
The suspects are currently being held at multiple detention centers, awaiting formal charges. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be forthcoming.

Chief of Police, Jacob Gordon, praised the efforts of the officers involved in the case, stating, "This is a testament to the dedication and professionalism of our law enforcement team. The swift and effective resolution of this case underscores our commitment to protecting the citizens of Lusk and maintaining the safety and security of our town."
The Lusk Police Department would like to thank the residents of Lusk for their vigilance and cooperation, which were instrumental in bringing these suspects to justice. We also extend our gratitude to the other assisting agencies for their invaluable support.
As always, we encourage community members to remain alert and report any suspicious activities to the Lusk Police Department. Together, we can continue to ensure that Lusk remains a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
