LUSK - The Lusk Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting their fourth annual BBQ and raffle on October 5 at 11 a.m. at the Fire House.

“This is our community appreciation BBQ and it’s just for us to get everyone together to talk about fire season,” Fire Chief Chantry Filener said. “The ranchers and people from the town of Lusk come.”

There will be a raffle of a AR-15, 5.56 is the first prize and the second prize will be a WYLDGEAR cooler load with snacks. Tickets will be one for $5, five for $20 or 30 for $100. Tickets can be purchased from any fire fighter or the day of the drawing at the BBQ and need not be present the day of the drawing. All proceeds will go to the Lusk Volunteer Fire Department.

A special thank you to all of the ranchers that help fight fires alongside of the fire fighters, Niobrara County Sheriff’s Office for always helping to manage traffic and navigation and finally thank you to Niobrara County Rural Fire Department for providing equipment.
