LUSK – The Wyopreps coaches and media’s fourth-ranked Lingle-Fort Laramie girl’s basketball team is looking every bit like a contender for deep tournament runs again. Friday evening at Tiger Gym, Phoebe Allbright splashed a three pointer to open the scoring, but after that the Lady Doggers pulled ahead to stay.
A 14-4 first quarter was followed by a 12-2 run from the visitors midway through the second period. At the break it was a 22 point lead for LFLHS.
The game slowed down in the third but Skyla Wunder’s 23 foot heave before the buzzer added salt to the wound. Entering the final quarter, Lusk didn’t have enough gas in the tank to pull off the upset in the 58-26 defeat.
