Lights of Love tree shines anyway

Posted

LUSK High winds and snow, too difficult to measure for days on end, did not darken the Lights of Love Tree on the corner by the Niobrara Community Hospital. Gifts in memory of loved ones are delivered by mail and sometimes in person continue, despite the amazing winter blizzard that hit the region last week, and lasted for nearly a week.  Several more gold lights were added by Arlene Wegner, of Casper, in memory of her cousin, Everette Kilmer, and another gold light for her mother, Marie Henthorn, and another for Marie’s husband, Eldon (Bud) Henthorn, also of Casper. Jim and Michelle Kruse, of Lance Creek, also chose gold, one each to remember his father, A.D. Kruse, his mother, Hazel Kruse, brother Paul Kruse and late wife, Linda Kruse.

Gifts, such as these, have made it possible to assist in furnishing the waiting room with attractive furniture (chairs, hall tree, end tables, artwork, etc), furniture for the Activity room, ice cream machine, and an endless list of many other purchases including a Welch charger, Opthalmoscope, Otoscope, pediatric scale, 6 stools, 14 guest chairs, Hyfrecator 2000, medical cart, cryo package, Maytag washer, crib and mattress, invacare electric beds, wheelchairs, bariatric shower chair, walkers and the subscription to the “Sing Fit” program plus various other items over the years.
