CASPER – Niobrara County High School’s two wrestlers that qualified for the 2A State Championships battled hard but unfortunately came up short in making it to the podium.
Senior Kort Bannan at 285 pounds had a first round bye before falling to eventual state champion James Love of Lovell. In the consolation round, Bannan was pinned by Kian Pelham of Big Piney.
Kadyn McCully was defeated by Greybull/Riverside’s Reece Whisenant in the opening match and was eliminated from the 144 pound bracket by Thermopolis’ Haeden Blair.
