The Court docket for Judge Korell on June 3, 2019, in the District Court of the Eighth Judicial District of and for Niobrara County were two names. First was a sentencing hearing for Heath Thompson who previously was found guilty of battery by 12 Niobrara County Jurors. Thompson was sentenced to three to six years in Wyoming State Penitentiary, he was also ordered to pay $16,279.72 in restitution as well as $150 crime victims compensation fund, $35 court costs, and $1500 public defender fees.

Also appearing was Kyle Broberg who is accused of two counts of Sexual Assault in the second degree with sexual intrusion. Broberg was a Wyoming Woman’s Center employee, this information is stemming from an investigation alleging that Broberg had sexually assaulted an inmate in the Wyoming Woman’s Center on two separate occasions within the last couple of months. Broberg pleaded not guilty to both charges and the matter will be set for trial. He is being held on a $20,000 cash bond and if Broberg is able to make bail, his bond conditions are as follows; he is to have no contact with the victim, he is to keep his phone number and address current with the courts, as well as remain in contact with his attorney at all times. He is to have no violations of Federal, State, or local laws and appear for all futures hearings/court preceding’s
