LUSK – On August 16, LEMS (Lusk Elementary/Middle School) Communi- ty for Kids hosted a free swim at Lusk Tiger Plunge with a BBQ courtesy of Niobrara County High School USASkills.

It was a successful end-of-summer treat for families and kids during the last weekend before school. There were more than 60 people who had signed up for the free swim and BBQ.

LEMS Community 4Kids is composed of families, educators, and community members who support the well-being of students at LEMS and Lance Creek El- ementary School.

LEMS Community 4Kids volunteers help with a variety of events throughout the school year. These include assisting with staff meals during parent/teacher conferences, creating student t-shirts, and hosting events like Math Night, Donuts With Dads, Mom and Me Valen- tine’s Day breakfast, and Ann Simpson Art Mobile.

The community is welcome to at- tend meetings, volunteer for events and contribute to fundraisers. Ask ex- isting members about how to become involved.

Upcoming events will be the LEMS Community 4Kids meeting will be held at LEMS in the Personal Development Room on Monday, August 26 at 5:30 p.m.
